London Met shortlisted for the Times Higher Education University of the Year award 2024

London Met makes the prestigious shortlist for the 2024 Times Higher Education (THE) University of the Year award

London Metropolitan University has been shortlisted for the (THE) , it was announced today. The recognition highlights the University's remarkable transformation over the past few years, being one of six universities shortlisted for the top accolade in the higher education sector.

The ceremony, known as the "Oscars of the UK university sector", will take place on Thursday 28 November at the ICC Birmingham. The University of the Year award recognises institutions in higher education that have demonstrated exceptional performance across various areas, including academic excellence, student experience and social impact.

Being shortlisted for the University of the Year award is a significant achievement for London Met, reflecting exceptional performance, particularly during the 2022-23 academic year. It recognises London Met's transformation under Professor Lynn Dobbs' leadership, its ongoing commitment to social impact, university growth, investment in facilities, student experience and research.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Julie Hall, commented:

London Met has also made the shortlist for , which recognises the team's award-winning Real London campaign that made waves across the sector and helped change perceptions of the University. This shortlist marks a successful year for the Marketing and Communications team at London Met, who won Content Marketing Team of the Year earlier this year at the .
